5G is the next-generation mobile broadband that will eventually replace the current 4G LTE technology. With the 5G connection, you can experience exponentially faster upload and download speeds than 4G LTE. The global mobile operators started launching 5G services in early 2019. And it is expected to be used worldwide in the later part of the 2020. Due to the current situation, the dates can be altered. Even Though the spread of the 5G technology is fast, the standard coverage conditions of 5G can be years away.
The main difference between 5G and 4G is the network speed. With speeds up to 100 gigabits per second. 5G is calculated to be as much as 100 times faster than 4G. And also 5G is expected to resolve latency issues. So it will reduce the data travelling time between the sender and the receiver very significantly. With 5G users will have the facility to watch 4K videos without buffering and download at a fascinating speed.
5G is a revolutionary step in the internet service providing industry. In theory 5G is flawless. And it will change the whole internet service. But in practical usage there are some concerns. The biggest concern is the range of the radio waves. The higher the frequency the lesser the range. So it won’t have the same massive range as 4G. So to use 5G effectively you would have to be in the direct line of site of the 5G nod. And also because of the weak range, the weather can factor in on the speed. Any rain or clouds that block the line of sight can cut down almost half of the speed
The only way to solve this issue is to use 5G nods in all the places and corners. And the practicality of that solution can be questionable. The only way of having an uninterrupted 5G connection is to be in the direct line of sight of a 5G not at all times. This will change eventually. But as the first implementation of 5G, nods are used everywhere.
Overexposure to any frequency can be potentially harmful. There is no direct evidence that 5G can affect your brain or control your minds. Some people think that because of the excess installations of 5G nods, those frequencies will affect their brains. And some people have taken this to the next level and they think the Covid-19 virus is a result of 5G frequencies. As every revolutionary technology, 5G can be a little bit difficult for some people to understand. That does not mean that is harmful.
5G has the potential to transform many industries other than the internet broadband service. It will enable new features for smart devices, autonomous vehicles, smart cities and much other technology related industries. And as time goes by 6G will replace 5G technology. China is already working on a 6G prototype. And the internet will become faster and latency free in the years to come. And as every revolutionary technology, 6G will surpass 5G technology.
